Discover the Firefighting Heritage of the Destination Jeruzalem Slovenia
09:00 – Arrival in our region, where you will be welcomed by a local tour guide. As a full day lies ahead, you begin with a tasty snack: sour soup and delicious gibanica cake.
10:30 – Continue to Osluševci, where a representative of the Association for the Preservation of the Prlekija Railway Cultural Heritage will greet you at the old train station. You’ll visit a unique museum located in a historic railway carriage.
12:00 – Visit to Puklavec Family Wines winery in Ormož. A wine expert will guide you through five levels of the cellar, descending 25 meters underground. After the tour, you’ll enjoy a tasting of excellent wines, served with bread and cheese.
13:30 – Stop at the Firefighting Museum PGD Miklavž near Ormož. You’ll be amazed by the rich collections of equipment, badges, and unique historical items from Slovenian firefighting history. The museum director will guide you through the exhibit.
15:00 – The day concludes with a hearty Prlekija-style lunch: two soups, two types of meat, two side dishes, salad, and dessert.
As the setting sun sinks between the vineyard hills on your way home, you will realise that the name Jeruzalem is not so farfetched and you have indeed visited a place with a holy name.
